You’ve got no good gat dam reason to be staying inside this week as the City of Chicago presents two completely free, outdoor daytime events for you to get your groove on.
Coming up this Wednesday, August 3 2016, the Chosen Few DJs (fresh off the Chosen Few Music Festival and a little get together with the Obama clan) present the next installment of their monthly Hot Mix Lunch Series at noon to 1pm. The Chosen Few spin under the Picasso in Daley Plaza in Downtown Chicago the first Wednesday of every month while the season cooperates with us (meaning: three more months to go). You can find more information here.
And Thursday, August 4 2016, we’re in for a treat as the Millennium Park Summer Music Series winds down on a season which has been incredibly dance friendly and soulful. This Thursday at 6:30pm the Spirit of Music Garden welcomes Sinkane from London-by-way-of-Sudan-by-way-of-Chicago alongside one of our dance music heroes, Mark de Clive-Lowe bringing us to church. All shows are free, and held at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion at 201 E. Randolph St. in Millennium Park. More information here.
