Can’t stop the House? Not sure I’d want to try. We were contacted late last week by some fellows who have put together still another installment in the Summer of House – another outdoor event, again at Pritzer Pavilion in Millennium Park and this one with some royal attendance.
“The School of House” is hosting the event this Tuesday June 2 from 5pm to 9:30 pm at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion. The event features an opening “Masterclass” followed by a showcase with “leading Dutch and American DJs and dance professionals.”
Part of the Dutch trade mission to the United States and Canada, the participants include Dutch DJs and professionals Ryan Marciano and Sunnery James, DJ Roog, Duncan Stutterheim, Richard Zijlma, Attila Meijs and Jan-Maarten Hartong and Victor Coral van de Ven. Chicago meanwhile will be represented by Steve “Silk” Hurley, Terry Hunter, Derrick Carter, Ron Carroll ft. Aires Adora, the Superjane collective (Lady D, DJ Heather and DJ Colette), Porn & Chicken and Lucas King.
After the Masterclass, DJs will take over from 7:00 until 9:30 pm, with sets from Derrick Carter, Superjane, Ron Carroll & Aires Adora, Roog and Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano. In addition (and presumably as part of the trade mission), the King & Queen of Holland will be in attendance.
There’s a facebook event page for it here.
