Dam Swindle: The 5 Mag Cover Mix Issue 225
Dam Swindle has been featured five times in 5 Mag, including on the cover, but never in a mix. The Amsterdam duo is celebrating the 100th release on their essential Heist Recordings label with a new compilation, House of House, featuring label family, label friends and some of the founding fathers of house music, which you can read about later in this issue. "We love doing mixes," Lars Dales & Maarten Smeets tell us, "and this one obviously is a special one because it's wrapped around this Heist 100 release. So we have some unreleased Heist music in there, of course. We also did a bunch of remixes this year that we really enjoyed. So we added some remixes to that as well. And then it's just house music from the vaults — stuff you might never heard before that is pretty old, and stuff that we just discovered that we just love to share. It's a blend of everything that we like in house music."
