SYNC / Paul Johnson: The Capricorn In Me
There is no credible masterlist of Paul Johnson's discography, and making a list of the mixes he released would be hopeless. But one-by-one we're adding some new entries to the catalog with some of the great Chicago DJ's mixes that have become inaccessible for one reason or another.
This is another seemingly "lost" mix from 5 Mag's archives. Originally released in 2012, The Capricorn In Me was posted by Paul himself on SoundCloud and later deleted after it reached 100 downloads, as he liked to do with mixes (probably the safe move in an era when mixes & accounts that posted them were frequently purged). It's been stored, idle, on one of our office backup drives for 14 years now. The Capricorn In Me contains what appear to be a few of his own ad hoc remixes — Paul would edit a lot of music that he intended to play for his own use. This is a solid snapshot of the real PJ style, circa 2012.
