massive attack

#deletefacebook seems to have picked up a high profile endorsement as UK electronic music pioneers Massive Attack have announced they are “temporarily withdrawing” from Facebook.

“In light of FB’s continued disregard for your privacy, their lack of transparency and disregard for accountability – Massive Attack will be temporarily withdrawing from FB.”

The statement went on from there but is currently unavailable as it was, uh, posted to Facebook.

Massive Attack’s page is currently listed as “unavailable.” It had more than 2.8 million likes. Mark Zuckerberg finally spoke out on the controversy which launched #deletefacebook in a prepared statement on his own Facebook page, which can best be summarized as “They still trust me. Dumb fucks.”
