
Highland Park police said today that they were investigating metal scrappers targeting buildings when they arrested Kenny Dixon, Jr, better known as DJ Moodymann.
The event took place on Saturday night, and a video of a ring of police screaming and pointing weapons at Moodymann lead to widespread outrage.

According to the Detroit Free Press, the Highland Park Police came across Moodymann during the investigation. He was not a target, but Moodymann was arrested after he “did not produce personal ID nor proof of ownership of the property.”

Moodymann was issued several citations, according to the police statement.
