Philadelphia’s Josh Wink is releasing his first EP in four years on his acclaimed Ovum label.

“Balls”, the sprawling title track, is a return of sorts to the rugged 303-based material he released in the ’90s. Clocking in at 10 minutes, the title comes from the notion that “you really have to have balls to play this trick, as it’s a little different from most of the music out there”.

Wink’s last major release was the 2009 full length When A Banana Was Just a Banana and a remix LP of the same.

“Balls” is due out April 15, 2013 on vinyl and digital from Ovum. And for the record, I enjoyed writing that title tremendously.
