Here to remind you that Detroit continues to serve as one of the interstellar nurseries of phenomenal talent in electronic music. Witness: Jon Dixon, whose Vocal Sessions Vol 1 dropped in early September into the racks and then into the hands of the multitude of DJs that have traditionally relied on his jazz-infused techno and house tracks for their set’s secret weapons. “Feel Your Touch” feels warm to the touch, skipping percussion and a vocal by L’Renee that wraps around you like a dazzling diamond cloud. The keys in this are AMAZING. Jimpster takes it apart but elevates the keys even higher on his remix. The b-side features “I Keep Falling” with a compelling vocal from Kenny Watson.
