Swoose is an Irish producer who found his groove in a series of EPs reflecting a big love for ’90s style blissed-out house: breakbeats, pitched up vocal hits and a mind-melting haze of euphoric synths. Swoose reputedly “began his career handing out flyers for legendary club Stiff Kitten.” After some pretty sweet records on Shall Not Fade and sublabel Lost Palms, he brings that neo-ravey house sound to Bicep’s Belfast homebase with the Breathe EP on Feel My Bicep. This is all about the title track: “Breathe” is 5:39 of inflation and release, congas knifed by thunderous breakbeats and icy voices and bubbling effects out of the 808 State library.
