The Godfather of Neo-Soul, composer and vibraphonist and timeless inspiration Roy Ayers has lifted the veil on his new album Jazz Is Dead 002.

The album is a collaboration between Adrian Younge, Ali Shaheed Muhammad and Ayers, who met when Ayers performed four shows in Los Angeles for the Jazz Is Dead Black History Month series.

Sounding much like the music of Ayers’ classic ’70s recording, Jazz Is Dead 002 debuts with the soul-drenched vibes of “Synchronize Vibration” and the sultry whisper of “Hey Lover.” You can preview both tracks now:

The 8 track Jazz Is Dead 002 will be released on vinyl, digital and CD on June 19 2020. Pre-order is open now on Bandcamp.
