Sam Alfred checks in to Gallery Recordings with this single-dip track on the Australian label. “Aucklands Groove” throws it back so hard it bounces off the wall and falls into a puddle of hyperactive happy house. Bouncy percussion drives this track with a wild whoop of a Pete Tong icebreaker as an exclamation point at the end. The real fun part are the big chords that saddle up about half-way through — pop around a preview stream and you might miss ’em. This could have been made from the residue scraped off the walls of an LA warehouse when Doc Martin was the king of the underground. Pitching it down leads to some interesting experiments as well.
