This veers pretty damn close to Afro house perfection. Nominated as Best Underground Record in the Dance Music Awards South Africa 2018, “Amadlozi” weaves a wicked melody, swirling in a vortex of spiritually pitched voices and FX. It’s not so much a record as an act of hypnosis – even the drums seem to curl and wrap around your solar plexus in a serpentine fashion. I’ve been hearing this light up sets like a polar sun since the summer and I don’t see it losing momentum anytime soon.
