Deep House artists Converge (aka Stephen Brown and Ray Fenwick) have this five track EP to offer from the UK. The sound varies intensely from song to song. “Come On Over” is deep and loungey, with just a simple vocal loop that invites an obvious comparison with Rick James’ old foxes, the one hit wonder Mary Jane Girls. “Tilt” on the other hand sneaks a peak over the fence into tech House territory. There’s a really unique effect here that I suspect may have some checking for feedback on cheap speakers, but it’s really the shit – by the time the organs kick into the groove, you’ll be rolling with this one whether you like it or not.
