Knocking one out from the Swiss cantons, DimSum pours out a delicious release for Italian label My Cup of Tea. The A side tracks on Stars In Your Eyes are cut out of the same cloth and play well together, with mesmerizing melodies propelled by a deep subterranean throb. “My Cutie” (these tracks are dedicated to DimSum’s partner, making the titles a bit twee) builds a monster out of disparate elements — soul with strings, a quick little vocal hit and some wild and funky free radicals bouncing around in the mix. The title track leads with a funky bassline and who doesn’t like that? It’s dreamy deep house with just enough funk in the back seat speakers to keep it lively.

The b-side is devoted to a brassy collaboration between DimSum and Retromigration, showcasing those epic long Kool & The Gang-type leads and beats so heavy they squeeze the splinters out of the floorboards. Great EP with a romantic inspiration.
