When you think you’ve heard it all and become a jaded fuck, Born Free lives up to its name. Proprietors Sling & Samo can be relied upon to always blast out some fresh sounds from the North Lands and none sound fresher than this. The title track (on “that” side according to the label) of Teenage Sexdrive a spectacular jam, sending out marching orders to the dancefloor with a rich and infectious groove. That percussion though: it just keeps thundering, seemingly becoming louder or just more rude, I’m not sure which but you can almost visualize the stomp bouncing a drink across the bar through the kinetic force of this monster. A thorough rinse and this is sure to be one of those mid-set pressure cookers for this summer.
