DJD3 (DJ Donovan): “Taste My Spirit”

This was sent via CDR by Donovan (aka DJD3), a talented DJ that was for a time last Fall and Winter was splitting his time between residencies in Chicago and Miami. This is a pretty fun Deep House track with a tribal beat and some gorgeous vocal samples. It’s lush and evokes the tropics, with even a few (though much more muted) animal sounds · la 808 State. It rolls on for a full eleven and a half minutes, with the approach of a live percussion jam – evolving into something heavier by the time the counter ticks down.
