Big Riffs & Bass Bins: Heist Releases TRUFFLES from Fouk

With another sterling release, Detroit Swindle's label has become as much of a sure thing as there is.

We could probably just create a new page here for the latest Heist release and be done with it. Fouk’s Truffles is the next link in the chain. “Truffles” pulls out the big robot piano that makes big anthemic riffs, like Norman Quentin Cook used to make before became the rave world’s Jimmy Buffett.

Fouk (they are a duo) dig deep in the soul-drenched “I’ll Be Down” and the psychojazz of “Need My Space.” The former gets remixed by Hugo LX for another funky brass jam. After a few years a new release from Detroit Swindle‘s label has become as much of a sure thing as there is.
