A little spoken word outlines the world according to Linda Clifford on “Won’t Let Go,” the latest release from Joey Negro and his Z Records workshop and the first single from his forthcoming album, Produced With Love (and his first in 20+ years). Joey provides some walking-around music while Clifford does some off-the-cuff patter like a jazz singer between medleys. The message is one of love, positive change and unity.
The Black Loops remix is phenomenal: adding a psychedelic organ to upswing the vocals and a really nice shuffle. It’s a tightly wound machine, not a note out of place. Joey Negro’s Dub seems made for the frosty morning sunrise set. This sounds like a track that came about almost by accident – you can’t really plan things like this anyway – and became, well, a Traxsource hit. There it is.
