Best continues reissuing the records that you never knew you needed. “The MBO Theme” is second only to “Dirty Talk” in the canon of classic Klein & MBO records (and a canon it is) – a track that every hotmixer hotmixed, one of the coveted tracks that was “Chicago House” to a generation of kids at discotheques and high school dances before “Chicago House” records themselves really existed.
For the reissue, Best has unearthed an unreleased instrumental edit produced by K+MBO’s Mario Boncaldo “back in the days and available only on the quarter inch studio tape.” Dubbed “The Italian Version” here, those hats leap out of the mix ahead of the iconic bassline and synths that take you on a legendary journey.
Working with tracks in some cases older than the DJs who are playing them, Best continues to build upon a reputation as one of the most raucous, unmatchable labels on the scene.
