I found this one late and I blame it on COVID, like everything else wrong in my life. But there’s really no excuse given the artist and the label, Dan Curtin‘s legendary Metamorphic Recordings.

Nico Lahs has a fascinating four track EP here called Blow Your Mind with an eclectic, searching sound that fits in perfectly with Metamorphic’s aesthetic. In certain places (especially the frenetic “Is This The Way”) the EP actually sounds exactly like it evolved from the techno/house soup the South-of-Detroit/East-of-Chicago/West-of-New-York imprint first flowered in. This is the rare modern techno EP where no track stands a head above the rest because they all stand up together.
