With a spacey, more electronic sound than his Strictly Jaz Unit records or the cuts he’s dropped on Finale Sessions, Noble Square or Housewax in the last few years, “Outer Limits” is the kind of record Sun Ra might have made if he were born 50 years later and on the Southside of Chicago. This fits nicely in the same eclectic sector of your record shelves as the more moody Ron Trent, Stacey Pullen and Larry Heard selections.
