One single side of black wax and it’s more than enough to feed the famished. “Outer Limits” follows in the wake of several Boo Williams digital cuts released quietly and without much fanfare on Bandcamp in the last few months focusing on a similar sound. With a spacey, more electronic sound than his Strictly Jaz Unit records or the cuts he’s dropped on Finale Sessions, Noble Square or Housewax in the last few years, “Outer Limits” is the kind of record Sun Ra might have made if he were born 50 years later and on the Southside of Chicago. This fits nicely in the same eclectic sector of your record shelves as the more moody Ron Trent, Stacey Pullen and Larry Heard selections.
