Rapturous Soul from Papik, Danny Losito and Jamie Lewis

Purple Music drops a radio-friendly bomb with Soulful House gem "Figli Delle Stelle."

Ooooo this gonna be a big one. I can’t speak a word of Italian and you won’t need to either, because “Figli Delle Stelle” sings to you like one of the songs of Tom Jobim or Serge Gainsbourg. And it’s an apt comparison, as there’s something of the sweet, love-drunk sentimentality of those great balladeers of the old world and the new.

Jamie Lewis‘ remix is absolutely perfect: focusing on tone rather than looking for places to hammer club-friendly effects, it has the vibe and swerve somewhere between The Brand New Heavies and Yannick Noah with a bit of ’70s soft rock funk thrown in. I’m a fan of Submantra’s mix as well: a bit more crisp, steely and radio-friendly.
