Glitterbox Drops NEW Remixes of Ralphi Rosario Classic

This is the neighborhood that Ralphi Rosario likes to visit from time to time. That’s how he put it in an interview with 5 Mag back in 2012 – the past was a place he likes to visit from time to time, but he doesn’t want to live there.

Here one of his classics from the old hood, “Wanna Give It Up” gets a handsome reissue and retouch courtesy of Glitterbox, which has been doing some interesting things with disco and classic house artists both live and now via their branded sublabel. Only Légo’s dub from the original release is included here – one of several tracks from Ralphi that Légo remixed around this period (I just pulled out his definitive remix of “Take Me Up (Gotta Get Up)” by Ralphi & Donna Blakely from 1997 the other day. It still sounds fantastic.)

Glitterbox has brought in Full Intention, Dr. Packer and Jamie 3:26 to work it over – the latter two are the key, with Dr. Packer’s strut and swagger being matched like some sudden death DJ contest by Jamie 3:26’s raucous, funky jam session.
