Nuphuture has been around for awhile but is getting a lot of attention for these single-track projects featuring the likes of Johnny Fiasco, Paul Johnson and now Rick Wade. Resisting the urge to add superfluous remixes, the releases are attractive, no-frills records for people that play records. “Fusion Reactor” by Rick Wade is moody, head-swaying, body-moving music – it doesn’t so much “smash” or “destroy” a dancefloor as control it, like the moon pulling the tides. Fine as fuck deep house from the man who lives it.
