Rick Wade remixes “Alfa” from the mystical mind of Crackazat

There should never be an issue of 5 Mag that passes without including a Rick Wade remix — and very few of them have!

This time he’s remixing “Alfa,” the title track of a new EP from the mystical mind of Crackazat on Dam Swindle‘s label, Heist. Wade dunks it in the deep end with some slow-swaying synths that roll in when the drums drop out and never go away again. With a track like this, you can either leave it idling or open up the engine and Wade (tastefully) takes the playboy route with a short burst of brass that fits so perfectly in the pocket here. Anyone who plays deep or soulful house can get a rise out of the crowd with this one.
