So this was that record released on New Year’s Day which had 131 mixes. Not a typo: one hundred and thirty one mixes. I’m not even going to pretend I listened to or even sampled all of them, but there are probably a few of this classic that are worth having in your bag.

The original “Why Can’t We See” by Blind Truth featuring Tata & Toney was written, produced, programmed and mixed by Arthur Baker and Victor Simonelli and likely deserved a revival of some kind, as it was one of the tracks of the era that stayed in sets longer than almost any other. Scott Diaz does a spectacular job fattening this piece up in places where it’s too thin and preserving the vibe that made it a classic in the first place.
