Will Azada has a touch, a style distinctive enough that you can differentiate his tracks from the stack by ear alone.
The first clue: they’re really, really good.
The Proper Traxx EP is something of an homage to 20 years or so of Midwest scene history (including a time – I’d guess it started around ’92 and continued until the end of the decade – when people still considered themselves part of a “Midwest scene”). “Mysterious White Powder” plays with proto-rave sounding chord stabs and breakbeats; “Let’s Get Tight” has a classic ’80s electro sound with thunderous drums. I’m not sure where to begin with “A Night in The Life of Mr. Dirtbag McDiscopants”, a track as elaborate as its title and something like, I don’t know, a disco version of The Threepenny Opera?
