There is one official Frankie Knuckles birthday party and it is held in Chicago. And this year it’s at Metro & Smartbar.

For Frankie! A Celebration of the Life of Frankie Knuckles takes place at Metro / Smartbar in Chicago on Sunday, January 14 2024, presented in conjunction with Smartbar’s Sunday night Queen! residency. Queen! residents Derrick Carter, Michael Serafini and Garrett David will be playing alongside special guests Tony Humphries and Frankie’s long-time collaborator in the “Director’s Cut” project, Eric Kupper.

For Frankie! is hosted by Queen! hosts Lucy Stoole and Nico with guest hosts Trisha Can and Holly Hazmat. A portion of the proceeds for the event will be donated to the Center on Halsted, Howard Brown and The Frankie Knuckles Foundation.

With immense excitement, The Frankie Knuckles Foundation, in collaboration with Queen!, Metro, and smartbar, proudly present FOR FRANKIE! – the annual event dedicated to celebrating the extraordinary life of cherished friend and inaugural smartbar resident DJ, the incomparable Frankie Knuckles. Frankie holds unparalleled significance as a pioneering figure in the world, earning the title “The Godfather of House.” His groundbreaking contributions not only shaped the genre but also paved the way for countless artists, leaving an indelible mark on the global music landscape with his innovative sound and influence.
