Sometimes an edit series catches fire and that’s what’s happened with Robot84’s Promo records. They’ve got some really good stuff on Bandcamp, which is surprisingly under-appreciated, but these vinyl cuts must tickle the spot for DJs who need a constant flow of dancefloor ammo.
“Make Me Feel Good” uses a well-worn sample from Eleanore Mills’ “Mr. Right” that was sold out of the back door at Vinylmania in the late 1980s. I don’t say this often but the instrumental does some heavy lifting as well. The flip side features an Italo pastiche called “Futuro Disko” and a muted dub beat track called “Ago (Dubbed Out Mix).”
