The Houses That Curtis Jones Built have a couple of hot records out today, featuring Josh Butler on Cajual and Alberto Ruiz on Relief.
Portable is the name of Josh Butler’s second EP for Cajual. It’s a bit of a daft thing to say these days but the opener, “Black Dog,” really does have an affinity for the best of Cajual’s legendary back catalog along with some ’90s dirty dub influences. “House Sitting” is the essential track here, though – it was featured in today’s Traxsource live mix by Brian Tappert as well:
Also out today on sister label Relief Records is Alberto Ruiz’s Rupture. This is Ruiz’s second appearance on Relief this year, depending on where you want to place the Cajual vs. Relief Vol 2 compilation which featured his track “Trilogy.” Rupture is a four track EP jammed with sonorous technoes, particularly the comfortably demonic “Oceanic” and sinister “Connexion.”
Portable is out now via Traxsource and Beatport; Rupture is available from Beatport and Traxsource.
