I’ll never forget when we started as a print magazine — the hours driving around Chicago every day and night dropping off copies at coffee shops, stores, bars, clubs, festivals and music events. No one knew us then, and it was a pure labor of love to be able to document and give light to the talent that came from Chicago and the world.
Hundreds of DJ interviews, mixes, music reviews, gear reviews and think pieces have been written since. Lifelong bonds built.

To be able to celebrate this milestone means so much to us. To have our anniversary party at Smartbar, which has been a home to so many 5 Mag parties, the place where so much of our story has been written, danced, and lived feels like coming full circle.
This Saturday Oct. 4th, we dance together with the incredible Natasha Diggs, Quicktastic, myself and the Fivestarboogie Dancers.
