Insomniac, the promoters behind the Electric Daisy Carnival, have announced that their festival is expanding to Chicago – the same weekend traditionally set aside by Midwest promoters for Movement (formerly and still widely known as the Detroit Electronic Music Festival, or DEMF).
The Electric Daisy Carnival will be held on at the Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet on May 24, 25 and 26, 2013 – Memorial Day Weekend. Movement is May 25 through May 27th. According to a release, Insomniac CEO Pasquale Rotella says:
“As Insomniac continues to grow, our first priority is listening to our fans and they’ve made us feel confident that EDC has a home in Chicago,” said Insomniac CEO, Pasquale Rotella. “This is the first EDC that will offer fans the opportunity to camp while enjoying the festival and I know that the Chicagoland Speedway is the ideal location. I’m really excited we’ve added Chicago to the EDC family of festivals.”
