Users are now able to play tracks from directly within the Twitter timeline on their mobile devices. They just can’t play yours. Yet.
SoundCloud announced today a partnership with Twitter on new “Audio Cards”. “Some SoundCloud creators can use Twitter’s new audio cards to share music and audio right in their followers’ Twitter timelines” on Apple and Android, the release states. The “some” is however a very small crowd: NASA, The White House, This American Life and, from the music world, EDM cheeseballs David Guetta, Steve Aoki and Zeds Dead.
SoundCloud promises that the audio cards will be available to “anyone who posts on SoundCloud… from global superstars to bedroom beatmakers” within weeks.
