A new event series in the Bay Area spotlights the Detroit DJs, producers, and promoters “who shaped the roots and continue to define the future of dance music culture.”
Unabridged, a imprint of Bay Area promoters and record label As You Like It, have announced a new events series, Unabridged: Detroit Incoming, starting February 27 and stretching through March 8 2026.
Unabridged: Detroit Incoming is a multi-date, multi-venue series featuring parties, podcasts and panel discussions featuring artists including Jeff Mills, Stacey “Hotwaxx” Hale, Moodymann, Marcellus Pittman, Mike Servito, Rebecca Goldberg and more.
The series debuts on February 27 2025 at The Stud featuring a panel discussion with Stacey “Hotwaxx” Hale — the “Godmother of Detroit House” — and includes the San Francisco date for Jeff Mills’ 30 year anniversary tour for Live In The Liquid Room and, on March 7 at San Francisco’s Palace of Fine Arts Theatre, a rare performance of Metropolis Metropolis, Mills’ 2023 score of Fritz Lang’s groundbreaking 1927 film Metropolis.
