Low Noise Productions suits up with two releases so far this month, including the intriguing Ekur EP from “DJ, live performer and visual artist from Tehran,” Golbon Moltaji. The EP (appearing in limited quantities on cassette tape as well as digital) is a four track exploration through dark techno with a cinematic scope — you have to turn it up and really get down with this to pick up all the delicate shifts in texture and tone.
“Karané” is the choice cut here, with a sullen determination and a groove that emerges through a lo-fi cytokine storm:
