Carolyn Harding: Movin On

Long Island native Carolyn Harding returns with a re-working of her 1987 hit, “Moving On”. Originally produced by Winston Jones, this collage of notable producers includes five action-packed remixed versions that will provide solidarity to any dancefloor.

Continuing a legacy of vibrant production, The Groove Junkies’ Evan Landes creates a powerful presence with a hard-hitting bassline in the MoHo Vox mix, with the the rhythmic synths engaging the smooth and dynamic vocals of Harding. Ruben Mancias’ Vocal Remix captures your eardrums with a vintage drum sound that takes control of the track. This instantly became one of my favorite mixes, with its dominant piano keys and solid, punchy bassline. Producer Justin Harris stitches together two powerful mixes with the Vocal Remix and Redub versions. As snippets of Harding’s voice are dropped throughout the remix, this version clearly reminded me of a dubbed version. Needless to say, this could have easily been that mix versus the actual redub Harris produced. There was nothing antiquated about the Old Skool Flavor Mix, which is reminiscent of today’s soulful sound. The stellar chords are a true dance floor mover and shaker.
