Monosoul: Early Bird

There is some seriously great deep house being released just in time for the warmer weather. I highly recommend taking Monosoul’s Early Bird EP with you wherever you’re going, be it Sunday Funday on a downtown rooftop or hanging at the apartment pool all afternoon. The hottie working on her tan won’t bat an eye let alone raise her sunglasses to give you a look once you put this on.

Tooman Records is based out of Berlin and their focus is deep, gentle and charming House Music. Indeed none of these tracks jump off the page immediately, but the longer you let them play the more you see just how charming they are. “Half Day Off” is one of the strongest showings with its subtle but bouncy bassline paired with spaced out synth whooshes. “Too Late To Leave” is just 6 minutes of elegance right from the opening notes. The closest thing to a party starter on this record is “Back Up” which again could be easily overlooked if you don’t just let it breathe on its own for a good 3 minutes.
