A new event series launches this weekend in Chicago under the guise of The Warehouse and hosted by Warehouse founder Robert Williams.
The Warehouse presents Detroit techno legend Juan Atkins with Chicago’s Shaun J. Wright, KC Wray and ctrlzora this Saturday November 11 at Chop Shop.
The Warehouse is an event series that “celebrates the global impact of Chicago House… The aim is not only to provide entertainment but also to educate. We will structure our line-ups always in a way where we not only consider who the headliners are but the overall flow of the event.”
The “core group” of Warehouse residents include Alinka, ctrlzora, Garrett David, He.Valencia, KC Wray and Shaun J. Wright.
The Warehouse events are hosted by Robert Williams, who arrived from New York City and launched the club that became The Warehouse with fellow NYC native Frankie Knuckles and later the Muzik Box with Ron Hardy. Some classic photos from his collection that we published back in 2006 are online here.

The building that housed the original downtown location of The Warehouse recently became a Chicago landmark.
Chop Shop is located at 2033 W. North Ave, doors open at 8pm.
