Chicago’s Spybar is launching their 27th season with an overhauled sound system and redesigned DJ booth.
The River North club — long one of Chicago’s leading lights when it comes to house and techno — has enlisted the know-how of Colorado-based firm Brown Note Productions to revamp their sound system, powered by d&b audiotechnik with the DJ both powered by an L-Acoustic rig.
The DJ booth was reimagined by Chicago’s Karp Designs and has been enlarged and extended allowing more space for gear, equipment and multiple performers. Spybar says the new space will be “a boon for live performance bookings throughout 2024.”
Spybar’s Director of Operations Michael Roche states, “Since reopening in 2021 after the COVID closings, we have worked diligently to upgrade all aspects of the club to keep Spybar relevant for the next 25 years. We hope customers new-and-old come to experience dance-floor euphoria in the new year.”
Spybar’s new season continues this weekend with Dan Ghenacia on Friday, Third Culture on Saturday followed by Kaysin February 9th. The Warehouse also welcomes Juliet Mendoza and KC Wray on February 10, Catz ‘n Dogz on February 17, Mikey Lion on Friday February 23 and Dennis Ferrer on Saturday February 24. Tickets are available via dice.fm.
