Paxahau has released a statement announcing the postponement of this year’s Movement Festival, originally set for Memorial Day Weekend.

On the cusp of the 8 week lockdown many officials are recommending, Movement’s viability was in question from the moment the full scope and scale of the Coronavirus lockdown became known.

The new dates are September 11, 12 and 13, 2020.

“Due to the developing COVID-19 restrictions and our ongoing communications with State and City officials, it is with a great sense of responsibility that we have rescheduled Movement 2020,” Paxahau wrote. “While it’s hard to accept that we won’t be dancing this Memorial Day weekend, our amazing team and city partners have worked tirelessly together to create a new opportunity for all of us.

“Postponing was certainly not an easy decision but it is the responsible decision.”

All tickets purchased for the original dates are valid for the September dates, and for Movement 2021 if you’re unable to attend the September dates. Refunds are available otherwise. Paxahau says they’re working to shore up the line-up now and will contact ticket holders by Friday March 27.

(This will likely be the last cancellation article, at least for awhile. For the first time in 15 years, 5 Mag’s event calendar is blank.)
