The Next 10

While going through video footage we’ve shot in the course of 5 Magazine’s 10 years, it struck me how things have changed in a very short span of time. The evolution of the music industry is forever tied with that of technology, sometimes at the expense of artistry. Yet at the same time technology enhances it, creates new possibilities for sound and the presentation of it. And Lord knows it’s certainly made it easier and more accessible for everyone to express their musical vision.

So in lieu of a formal editor’s note, we asked 12 insiders in the dance music industry to gaze into the proverbial crystal ball and give their predictions as to how the art and business will be three, five or ten years from now.
