51st Festival (formerly known as 51st State) is one of 5 Mag’s favorite summer festivals — and it’s back for 2023.

This year’s 51st Festival is taking place on Saturday August 5 2023 in the heart of London. Tickets are available at 51stfestival.com.

Returning to Copthall Playing Fields, this year guests will be treated to a diverse lineup of 100 artists spread out over six stages (Groove Odyssey, Rampage, La Fiesta, Dolly Rockers, Back to 95 and House FM VIP), and featuring everything from House, Garage, Tech, Afro, Soulful, Disco, RnB, Dancehall, Soca, Amapiano to Drum & Bass.

Read 5 Mag’s recap of 51st State Festival 2019 here.

Live acts include Roy Ayers, The Heatwave and Josh Milan’s live band, DJ teams such as the legendary trio of Body and Soul and Kings of House NYC (Louie Vega and David Morales), plus DJs Dimitri from Paris, Todd Edwards, Grant Nelson, Todd Terry, Mike Dunn, Dr. Packer, Norman Jay and Catz ’n Dogz to name a few. The full line-up is below:

51st Festival will once again celebrate the roots of House music, pulling together the threads of this hugely influential sound, exploring classic house, tech house, afro house, garage, disco, soul, dancehall and more. Your favourite pioneers from Chicago, New York, Detroit, London and beyond will be joined by the trailblazers of today. The 51st Festival program is truly transatlantic, joining the dots between the US, the UK, Europe and the Caribbean.

Founded in 2015, 51st Festival “has been joining the dots between seminal figures of dance music culture and the new generation of artists pushing the movement forward today,” showcasing the “technicoloured heritage” of dance music.

“Thoroughly looking forward to playing at 51st Festival this summer. I’ve got so much love for the UK, and I have really missed the crowd. What an amazing line up too!” — Dr Packer
