Chicago Producer/DJ Bear Who is upping the ante for those with warm weather wanderlust. On the weekend of July 30-31st, he will be launching his bi-monthly residency “In Da’ House Music Series” at the San Juan Water Club in Puerto Rico. Spinning with him in this inaugural weekend are Aure from Paris and Puerto Rico’s Tony G. In store for you is a night filled with the sound and vibe of Chicago House music along with a little bit of Latin rhythms, Salsa and Merengue on a gorgeous poolside rooftop.
“We want this to be an international event, where people from all around the world come to Puerto Rico,” explains Bear, “First of all it’s less expensive than traveling to Ibiza or Europe, and my team and I are making sure that everything is affordable. The hotel is welcoming us with open arms. The hotel is the only boutique hotel in this part of the island and it’s beautiful, the rooftop bar is a paradise complete with a 360’ view of the island. The party starts at 3pm and goes till we say it’s over!”
“This is just the beginning of other events we will be kicking off using Puerto Rico as a hub. It’s very personal to me because I have always dreamt of starting my own night and residency back home. My style always had that Puerto Rican vibe, whether it’s in the music I play or make. That’s where my alias ‘Joey Bochinche’ comes from.”
“In Da’House Music Series” will eventually be bringing in Chicago talent over to pair up with Bear. “I’m looking forward to bringing some of the best talent from here to showcase out there. EDM has been the main sound for the younger generation on the island so this is very important. It’s the education part. PR has some great leaders in the House game: my close friend Ivan Robles (Selector Music) has been a true pioneer of the House sound for years. I’ve actually played at the Water Club with him before over the years.”
For those who want to get both a weekend getaway along with their House fix, this is the event to be at. Being bi-monthly, the event will have time to breathe and give people a chance to make plans to make it out. Bear concludes by saying “The future is bright and we hope to carry this event for years to come. The Puerto Rican community here in Chicago is huge, so to be able to take the House train back to the island to party is unprecedented.”
