Tamsanqa Mninawe Ngxeketo, also known as Blaque Essence is a Johannesburg born South African DJ and Producer that at a mere 24 years old can boast over a decade of music production.
In 2008 Blaque and two of his friends created a House trio called “Haveloc Imperatives”, producing a few singles such as “Thoughts” which received airplay on one of the biggest radio stations called South Africa Metro FM. In 2011 he founded Soul Imperatives Music Group, using it as a springboard to sign emerging artists such as Michael Smit, Zenande, 96 Kingz, Chum., Gun Dwane, the Havelocs and Incarnate Deep.
In July the impresario released his album Fragments, featuring a diverse lineup of artists including Jonny Miller from the UK, Nengah Krisnarini from Indonesia, New York’s Jasmine Clemente, the West Coast’s Samantha Faison and many more.
“Producing this album was was my way of telling my life story,” Blaque says. “All of the songs are intense, but it’s not all a sad story. I believe this album is also very relevant for every life situation an ordinary person might be going through.”

The album is a mix of sexy, sweet, soulful, afro-tinged sounds that go from chilled out grooves to a funked up House groove towards the end. It’s a beautiful album to listen to whether you’re laying back watching the sun rise or warming up for a night out.
Fragments is out now and available from Traxsource.
