Scottish DJ Jackmaster, aka Jack Revill, has died.
Revill passed away on the morning of October 12, 2024 in Ibiza following “complications arising from an accidental head injury,” according to a statement from his family.
“His family—Kate, Sean, and Johnny — are utterly heartbroken. While deeply touched by the overwhelming support from friends, colleagues, and fans, the family kindly requests privacy as they navigate the immense grief of this devastating loss.”
Revill rose up at Glasgow’s Rubadub Records before co-founding Numbers and becoming one of the most prominent DJs of the 2010s. His family praised Revill’s “passion for music and his relentless drive to push creative boundaries.” 5 Mag’s Czarina Mirani interviewed Jackmaster during a brief and hectic stopover during an 11 city US tour in 2017 as he raced from one date to another. Revill was by his later admission struggling with addiction at the time — one which got worse as his career took off, and which he spoke about with Vice in the context of an accusation of sexual harassment at Love Saves The Day festival in 2018.
Revill was 38 years old and his passing has shocked his friends and family. His family has remembered “his talent for blending genres and delivering electrifying DJs sets and productions [that] earned him the respect and admiration of peers and fans across the globe. His legacy will continue to inspire, and his impact on the world of dance music will remain indelible.”
