The family of Michael Serafini have launched a crowdsourcing campaign to support the veteran Chicago house music DJ, resident at Smartbar’s Queen! and owner of Gramaphone Records in recovery from a serious accident in August.

Serafini was injured after falling 8 feet while moving into his new home in August, according to a GoFundMe page organized by his sister Tina Serafini. The accident resulted in several fractured ribs, injuries to his spine and skull requiring ten staples in his head. “He was rushed to the hospital by ambulance where he spent a week initially, then an overnight emergency room visit, followed by a second week in the hospital to drain blood and fluid from his lungs. While he is now home and slowly healing, there is a long road of expensive hospital bills, doctor visits, medications, and physical therapy ahead of him,” Tina Serafini writes.

Michael has dedicated his life to his art, his passion for music, his talent behind the decks, and being the best friend, brother, and advocate for a better future for the Chicago music community. Now is our turn to pick up our friend, DJ, and small business owner with your support. Any monetary donation you can spare: $2, $5, $25, $35, $50, $100, $1,000, or even $1,000,000 (if Oprah or any lottery winners see this), would be greatly appreciated. As any and all financial assistance can help him regain a pre-fall standard of living, and well being.
