I’m all over this new EP from Robert Hood‘s M Plant Records, which also happens to be the solo debut of Hood’s Floorplan partner (and daughter) Lyric Hood. “Nineteen” was the age at which she joined Floorplan, which had previously been Hood’s individual platform for banging together soul and even disco sounds with tech-centric beats.
“Nineteen” is on the A-side – a driving, scarcely controlled locomotive that drags in some kind of prog disco swing into the mix through a cleverly manipulated sample:
