Cinthie to remix Frankie Knuckles’ The Whistle Song

SoSure Music will be releasing a new remix of Frankie Knuckles’ legendary “The Whistle Song” remixed by German deep house DJ and producer Cinthie.

The record, which is listed for pre-order on SoSure’s Bandcamp and can be sampled at vinyl retailers like Juno, is slated for release on August 20, 2021.

“The Whistle Song” (officially by “Frankie Knuckles presents Director’s Cut” — Frankie Knuckles’ long-standing collaboration with Eric Kupper) was originally released in 1991 and was written by Kupper. Eric and Frankie, whose collaboration stretches back to 1989, worked on the track after Frankie initially played Eric’s composition out at Sound Factory.

“We had no idea it was going to become what it did,” Eric told us in a 2016 cover story. “We thought it was kind of cute.”

So Sure previously released a one sided vinyl cut of “The Whistle Song” with an Eric Kupper remix.
