Josh Wink Ursula Rucker

“Sixth Sense” was another ring on a chain of dope and incredibly influential 1990s tracks from Josh Wink. The 1998 release brought the legendary Ursula Rucker into the booth for an exquisite spoken word vocal on a track that rose ecstatically and hit a rousing crescendo that rivaled even “Higher State of Consciousness.” It was Josh Wink’s specialty, and it’s been frequently copied, never duplicated.

Celebrating his label Ovum Recordings’s 25th anniversary, Wink has released a new, classy set of remixes. Louie Vega‘s remixes sizzle like a dubby jack track made live on the turntables. Shlomi Aber brings out the dub techno elements of “Sixth Sense” for his time to shine.

The Sixth Sense Remixes are out now on vinyl; digital is available for pre-order and features two additional mixes.
