This is a neat limited release package: a 200 issue pressing of a pair of brilliant remixes from Andy Vaz’s Straight Vacationing LP. Patrice Scott’s remix is stunning: it opens with a fuzzy 303 cloud pierced by stunningly sharp pads, and that’s only the beginning of a mental storm of unrelenting intensity. Memory Foundation plays with a slick, almost poppy melody and a ’70s style Chuck Mangione sax line. It’s sure to be polarizing; I loved it, sincerely, and I can’t give you a good reason why. And that’s all: a 7″ chaser to an LP, no filler.
